when you connect your usb to pc and see that all your files diasappeared and replaced by shortcuts.most people will format the entire usb but still,no change.Anything pasted changes to shortcut.most antivirus identifies it,but removal is another story.
i have tested antiviruses:kaspersky,avg,Symantec/norton,nod 32,Microsoft security and avast.only updated versions of avg,kaspersky and microsoft found the virus.except avg other two deleted the virus,nod 32 quarrentined it.
Removal:
recommended:install any of these 3 and update them.(if this is not an option,skip to step 1)
step1:run regedit and task manager(open them both)
.delete anything related to "window defender"(not windows defender).
step 3:reboot in safe mode.
step 4:redo step 1.(admin mode)
step 5:reboot again
problem solved.:)
recovering affected files

open the folder to recover->folder and search options->view->|'uncheck' display hidden folders + system folders |->apply the changes.

you can recover anything within a folder.
files outside a folder will be affected
